Terms of Use
Last updated 7 November 2026
Use the app kindly, keep your account safe, and remember that the morning takeover is a nudge you can always step out of. What you write is yours.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using The Quiet Time you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. The app is made by Relay ("we", "us"). If you do not agree, please do not use it. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard terms for apps also apply, and Apple is not a party to these terms.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google and you need to be at least 13. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
The morning takeover
At the time you choose, the app can take over your phone and, on iPhone, block other apps until you finish the session. It is a nudge, not a lock: you get one snooze, and you can leave the session if something urgent comes up. Emergency calls are not blocked. Do not rely on the app, or on the phone being available to you, for anything where safety depends on it. You choose the time in Settings.
What you write
Your journal entries, notes and titles belong to you. You give us permission to store them, copy them between your phones and show them back to you, because that is how the app works. We do not read them for advertising and we do not sell them.
Scripture and study notes
Bible text in the app is in the public domain or used under the terms of its publisher. Study notes are written with the help of AI and can contain mistakes. They are a help for reading, not pastoral or theological advice, so check them against Scripture and with people you trust.
Using the app fairly
Please do not misuse the app: do not try to break into it or disrupt our servers, do not copy or reverse engineer it, and do not use it to harm others or break the law.
The app can change
We may update or change features, or stop offering the app, and we will try to give notice when a change affects you. We aim to keep your writing safe, but you should not rely on the app as your only copy of anything irreplaceable.
Ending your account
You can stop at any time. Delete account in Settings erases your account and everything stored online. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
No warranty and limits on our liability
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always work or be free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, which is nothing if the app is free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ghana, and its courts can hear any dispute, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to go to court where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters. Using the app after a change means you accept it.
